Distant Solidarity
by FCM
Screens apart
And barricades away
Distances
As far as night to day
An invisible plan
Inexplicably wrought,
Had our worlds upturned,
Who would’ve thought?
Through wee bubbles
Now we speak out our minds,
In different realms
Yet still feel entwined.
Though in relative obscurity
Do we now toil,
To good old times
As one we will roll.
With buoyant hopes
And hearts sanguine,
We long for the day
Everything will be pristine.
A confident vision
Though it crumbles away by the day,
And ‘morrow tells a different story
Where the new normal’s getting used to all these worries,
We hope to look back to a ruddy victory,
Where scars will forever be there
To boast and to love and to gladly bear.
